What is the best book you’ve read in the last year?

Besides the Bible, it is Bobby Welck’s book “The Warrior Leader.” This is a great book that applies military Strategies for victorious Spiritual Warfare. I also enjoy the books written by John Eldredge because he speaks to the heart of a man.

Who is the most inspiring person in history (besides Jesus) to you, and why?

I believe that it was Paul from the New Testament. Paul's influence on Christian thinking arguably has been more significant than any other New Testament author.

What are you listening to most on your ipod right now?

I’ve been listening to Nelson Miranda from Rochester First Assembly. I also love to listen to Micah Stampley, Jason Upton, and John Belt.

Who has been the most influential person in your life?

Besides the Lord, I would have to say my wife, Tammy. She’s my rock. It’s great to know that someone can love you through your imperfections and weakness.

If you weren’t in ministry, what would you be doing?

Civil Engineering or Architectural Design

I love to workout at the YMCA and read books

What is one interesting fact that not many people know about you?

An important fact that most people don’t know about me is that I’m my parents’ favorite child… and my Grandma’s favorite grandchild. Just ask my siblings...LOL. Before entering the ministry full-time, I worked in Indianapolis at an Engineering Firm designing bridges for the state of Indiana.


Larry Strunk is the director of our Christian Education department and our Singles ministry.

Larry and his wife, Tammy are both originally from Indiana. After attending Purdue University, Larry entered full-time ministry in 1993. They joined our staff in September, 1995.

Not only is Larry a gifted leader, he is also an extremely talented artist and set designer. One look at the rooms in our Children’s building will give you a taste of some of his and his team’s abilities. Larry has devoted his life to seeing believers grow and mature in productive, fruitful Christians.

Larry and Tammy have one daughter who is named Lauren.
