What is the best book you’ve read in the last year?

The Bible continues to amaze me every time I read through it. It just speaks to every area of life. Beyond that, I’d say either “Grace” by R.T. Kendall or “The Unquenchable Worshipper” by Matt Redman.

Who is the most inspiring person in history (besides Jesus) to you, and why?

Probably Winston Churchill… in the face of almost insurmountable odds he held England together to face the Axis forces alone before the U.S. entered the war. He continued to make the right choices in spite of mounting losses and the unpopularity of those decisions. He paid a great price, in fact, although England won the war, he was voted out of office shortly thereafter. Best of all, he never lost his sense of humor.

What are you listening to most on your ipod right now?

I love New Life’s last record, “My Savior Lives.” Other than that it is probably old school…Earth, Wind and Fire; Toto; Chicago.

Who has been the most influential person in your life?

My dad. I have never known anyone with more integrity. I have seen throughout his life (and now mine) that total honesty won’t always win you the most friends, but when you lay your head on your pillow at night, it’s worth it.

If you weren’t in ministry, what would you be doing?

I would have retired last year from the car business. I had a plan to retire by 45.

What’s your favorite hobby or activity?

Golf and travel. If you can travel to play golf… well, that’s close to heaven.

What is one interesting fact that not many people know about you?

I used to be a pretty good tennis player, even holding a state ranking for a while. Now… too many knee surgeries and too much Bojangle’s chicken.

Danny is the leader of The Crossing’s Worship Arts Department. This is Danny’s home church and he has been a member since childhood, so he brings the unique perspective and understanding of a “lifer” here at The Crossing.

After college, Danny travelled professionally as a musician for a number of years, and has had the opportunity to minister through music on all six inhabited continents of the world. In time, though, he began to feel the call to invest in the church that had given him so much; and today, one of his greatest joys is watching people go through the process of becoming true seekers and passionate worshippers.

Danny’s wife, Debbie is a gifted teacher and musician and is an integral part of a number of ministries here at The Crossing.
