GriefShare

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. GriefShare seminars and support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help.

You’ll gain access to valuable GriefShare resources to help you recover from your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life. Ed & Nancy Zipp faciltate the sessions and you may call the church office at 423.867.7287, extension 102, for more information

Pre-Marital Counseling

One of the greatest blessings an individual can experience is a long, happy marriage. Home should be a refreshing oasis in the journey of life. Too often, however, homes become battlegrounds and marriages begun with the best intentions come apart at the seams. Pre-marital counseling helps prospective brides and grooms anticipate some of the potential pitfalls that lie ahead.

Topics range from learning to manage personal finances and philosophy of child rearing, to how to deal with that ornery in-law. Marriage is a lifetime commitment. Shouldn’t you invest the time to make sure it will be a joyous journey together? Sessions are scheduled on an as-needed basis and are facilitated by Rick and Mary Stallings. For more information contact the church office at 423.867.7287, extension 102.

New Mommies

There is nothing like a newborn baby… the softness of his skin, her smell, that first newborn cry. Soon, though, these give way to the sleepless nights, dirty diapers, and cranky dispositions. That’s why we’re here to help! (not with the dirty diapers, you’re on your own)

New mommy ministry is our way of helping you make those adjustments that children bring into our lives. We have our very own neo-natal nurse, Connie Gibson, ready to assist you through your transition to parent-hood. You can contact Connie directly at 423.894.7106 for more information.

DivorceCare

Studies over the years have consistently shown that divorce is one of the greatest causes of stress that can affect a person’s life. Not only are there emotional effects, research even shows that there are links between divorce and the ability to recover and recovery time from physical illnesses.

DivorceCare is a program to assist in recovering and moving on from divorce. The curriculum helps individuals to recognize and avoid problematic symptoms and stress-inducing behaviors as they move through the process of divorce and recovery. For more information on getting started, contact the church office 423.867.7287, extension 102.

Prison Ministry

Prison inmates often feel forgotten and abandoned by the world “outside.” Here at The Crossing, we are working hard to change that. Every week, we have volunteers serving at least three times in the women’s prison at Silverdale. These ladies go in every week to teach, preach, encourage, and pray with the women incarcerated there. In an often dark environment, they are bringing the light of Jesus and the hope of a new tomorrow. In fact, in Matthew 25, Jesus tells us that if we visited “the least of these” in prison, we really visited Him! If you are interested in being a part of our Prison Ministry, contact Connie Gibson at 423.894.7106.
